Corporate Social Responsibility
Amidst growing environmental concern over carbon emissions and the threat of global warming, astute businesses are taking their corporate environmental responsibilities more and more seriously when it comes to sourcing energy. As a renewable, cleaner burning fuel with significant environmental and ecological advantages, biodiesel is one of the main candidates to replace fossil fuels as the world's primary transport energy source.
ESL Biofuels is a company firmly rooted in the production and promotion of premium quality biofuels and a strong commitment to environmentally friendly products and processes is a hallmark of its business. That's why the company has such a rigorous and sustainable policy with regard to sourcing raw materials for biodiesel production.
ESL Biofuels will only use genuinely sustainable feedstocks including:
- Animal or fish oils of known origin with traceable history. Used vegetable oils from food manufacturers, the catering or pharmaceutical industry*
- Virgin vegetable oils which have been rejected for human consumption by 'sell by date' or contamination
- Non edible vegetable oils such as jatropha oil or algae-produced oils of known and sustainable origin.
- None of its raw materials have been linked with any adverse environmental or social impact.
* In order to maintain its supply of UK-sourced waste vegetable oil, ESL Biofuels continues to establish symbiotic relationships with companies capable of supplying bulk raw material. We continue to seek restaurants, canteens, retailers and food manufacturers as potential sources for waste oil collection.
