ESL Biofuels is committed to producing more environmentally-friendly, ecologically sustainable and cleaner burning alternatives to diesel fuel for both the transport and commercial heating sectors. It has augmented its original Biodiesel product with a new Ultra20 blend and a renewable heating oil, GreenFlame.

Biodiesel

Biodiesel is a renewable fuel that can be synthesised from an array of oil-based materials such as vegetable oils or animal fats through a process known as transesterification.

Our biodiesel is wholly manufactured from waste or virgin vegetable oil and as an oxygenated vegetable oil ester it offers many environmental and performance advantages over traditional petroleum based diesel.

The use of biodiesel helps consumers and businesses alike to reduce their carbon footprint because it produces no net emissions of carbon dioxide, one of the main gases responsible for global warming. It also burns more cleanly and efficiently than fossil diesel and causes less pollution when burnt.

With a higher Cetane Number than diesel fuel it is actually more efficient in the transport industry than petroleum-based diesel, providing similar miles per gallon and horsepower performance but with extra lubricity helping to reduce wear and tear and extend vehicle engine life.

Biodiesel can be blended with conventional ultra low sulphur diesel in any concentration but is typically supplied at 100%, 20% or 5% blends.
